There can be several reasons because of which Windows 8 might fail to detect a webcam that was earlier working absolutely fine on Windows 7 computer. The main reason, but not the only one, behind this issue can be the incompatible web cam driver. It’s amazing; great focus, that new blur feature is cool, and I’m able to take half-way decent photos that I never could before. One recurring error that I have been experiencing with the camera app is that sometimes when I launch it, it tells me ‘Can’t connect to camera’.Skpye has been identified as the culprit in case of the Nexus 5.The other reason for the error is how you exit the camera app in the first place.
Among other features and apps that I love on the phone, the camera app is what I consider the crown jewel.
It worked fine up until about 3 days ago and suddenly stopped for some reason. I even deleted Norton 360 and installed Kaspersky Internet Security 2013Thanks Ray I want to do a restore to before 3 days to rule out any issue that has been brought in.
Go to the Windows 8 Start Screen and type restore point.
When the search results appear click on the Settings category.
Now click on the option labeled Create a restore point and you will be brought to the System Protection tab of the System Properties control panel.
